Brooke and Matt were married in Lexington, KY at the Red Mile Barn. It was an absolutely gorgeous day in October (see, I told you I was behind on blogging!). We definitely lucked out with the weather and it shows in the photographs!
Brooke came to my studio about a week or two before the wedding to do bridals (you can see the post HERE) and we had a fantastic time. She is -- of course -- completely gorgeous. And her dress was so perfect for her. At the end of her session she felt so comfortable with me and the camera that she actually let me fix her hair. I have to say I am no stylist but I loved what happened from the coiffure I styled (again, check out the bridals post).
Luckily I had already had the opportunity to meet both Matt and Brooke's mother. It is always wonderful to see familiar faces at a wedding (I love seeing past clients!). The day was beautiful. The sun came out wonderfully for the ceremony and photographs and the reception was fantastic, with the venerable Kevin Moreland presiding over the musical accouterments. You can't NOT have fun with Kevin doling out the tunes. So on to the photographic representation of the perfect day:
Brooke's shoes were so cute, with the little bows. So I just tied them right together for this photo. Brooke did divulge, though, that they were not very comfortable...but a great pair of shoes is worth a certain amount of pain! ;)
The trappings of a natural, but glowing look, as in Brooke's on the day of the wedding.
The gorgeous maiden herself. Photo by the amazing Amy Campbell, associate.
Brooke has a great humor and energy about her.
I love children at weddings! Here is a neice getting ready for her flower girl attire (pictured in the background).
I love small details, that usually go unnoticed. A fall wedding.
I am not sure what was happening in this photo, or what spurred it -- but I love it anyhow. The groomsmen. Watch out!
Brooke walks down the aisle. Emotional. I can only imagine her heart beating so fast. Photo by Amy (you can see me on the left side focusing my camera on Matt's reaction, next photo).
And Matt's reaction.
A beautiful image of Brooke caught during the ceremony.
Many, many bridesmaids! All dressed in pink!

Brooke's sister. (Note: Amy in the background!)
A shot of the happy groomsmen during the service.
Matt's brother-in-law and niece after the wedding. Everyone was hugging them and so happy for them. You can tell there is a lot of family and friends support for the amazing bond this couple shares.
The Guys.
The Bridal Party out at the open stables. It was no small bridal party!
And a fun shot of Matt encased in bridesmaid pink!
Brooke, her mom and her two sisters.
They could barely look at one another for crying. But we slipped in this one smiling photo!
Brooke in the stables. I love this photograph. It is so Kentucky in the autumn!
Matt has a slight fascination with his groomsmen boutonnière here. ;)
Matt and his two sisters!
A quick, sweet kiss between Brooke and her mom while we were snapping portraits. (Photo by Amy)
I had some time alone with just Matt and Brooke and I love the photographs that came from the session time.

A gorgeous late-afternoon Kentucky sky!
Look at the back of Brooke's dress. Absolutely sexy! (FYI: It is a Monique L'hullier)
One of my favorite couple photos I have taken recently. I love the composition of the windows and the awesome shadow of the tree. This is a photo that needs to be really, really large to be appreciated. Also on the list of wonderfully huge canvas wraps going in the new studio!
What a great kiss!
Another definite favorite.
A view into the reception.

I love the bridesmaid's expression in this photo. This is right after the portraits were taken and a wee bit of wine was spilled on Brooke's dress. White wine, I do believe and I am nearly certain it was only on the veil and came out fairly easily.
During the toasts.
The first dance.
A stolen kiss during the dance.
Matt and his mother
Brooke and her mom. It was obvious to me that they had such a close relationship. It was so beautiful to see them interact and see their bond. Mothers are so amazing and so worth every joyful tear!
Amy and I talked Matt into a few "Bridals" of his own at the end of the evening. Should I call these "Groomals?" or just a "Man Session"? ;)
